Mission Statement: We believe in the power of prayer, individual and corporate. By God’s transforming grace, the Prayer Ministry will guide the church to become a people of prayer in a personal agape relationship with God.
Vision Statement: We aim to be a dynamic church with people experiencing God through the power of prayer. (Isaiah 56:7)
What is Prayer?
- It is the act of making a reverent petition to God, or
- It is communication with God, such as in adoration, confession, praise or thanksgiving. (James 5:16)
Do I pray for myself or others? When you pray for yourself that is called petitionary prayer. When you pray for others, it’s called intercessory prayer. It is natural to pray for ourselves, but God wants us also to intercede for others and not only those who love us, but even our enemies! (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
Access to the Trinity: We have access to God through the Holy Spirit with Jesus Christ as our great High Priest and Intercessor!
The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, even for things we don’t know to pray. (Romans 8:26-27)
Jesus is our High Priest: We can approach the throne of grace with confidence because of Jesus, our High Priest, who became a man and was tempted in every way that we are. (Hebrews 4:14-17)
So pray with confidence knowing the Spirit intercedes for us and Jesus is our High Priest! How about praying daily and learning new methods of prayer to enhance your relationship with God?
